Imran and Anisa had their first date in San Francisco. And while they both hail from Chicago, where they will be married later this year, they wanted to have their engagement photos done in San Francisco, CA! Having never been to San Francisco, CA, I more than jumped at the opportunity to spend sometime in SF! For destination engagement sessions, I typically have multiple photo shoots with the couple, as I want to take advantage of the new environment & architecture.
And I must say…I think I am glad I don’t live in San Francisco. My wallet isn’t deep enough for it! Blue Bottle Coffee, Hog Island Oysters, and the BEST Japanese Sashimi I’ve ever eaten…at a hole in the wall called Ryoko’s in Nob Hill. Man…I am drooling just thinking about it!
For their engagement photo session, we headed to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) – A fabulous building with modern architecture…full of clean lines and just my vibe. We started off our session just catching over some Blue Bottle Coffee. Imran hooked me up with their signature New Orleans style iced coffee. =) Not a bad way to start a photo session. =)
She got a macchiato…hand delivered by her fiance.
Nothing beats an authentic moment in a photo. This is who they are. Great smiles and laughs. =)
Check out colors of their outfits…they really ‘pop’ in the white space of the SFMOMA.
I’m telling you…I loved the SFMOMA white walls! And you gotta appreciate the usage of negative space. =)
I’m not gonna lie…I’m a bit scared of heights. =) At the very top of the SFMOMA, there is a bridge…and you can see through the floor and over the railings…four stories below. And this is where we shot this next photo-
A different perspective of the bridge. I’m all about the framing of this image-
Check out the reflection…uber cool. Especially considering…it wasn’t a mirror. =)
This photo reminds me of a setup from the original Star Wars…and yet I see angelic/bird wings. Do you see it? =)
Thanks for a great first photo session Imran and Anisa! I bet you can’t wait for the rest! =)
Stay tuned for more photos from San Francisco, CA – This was only the first of a few photo shoots! I love destination engagement sessions…such a fun and memorable experience for all! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about a potential shoot for you!
