Chicago Wedding Photography at the Ritz Carlton Chicago
Sloane + Aaron had their gorgeous Jewish wedding ceremony and reception at the luxurious Chicago Ritz Carlton! Jan Ehrenberg from Parties, Events & More did a phenomenal job coordinating everything! Sloane had the words, A Vintage Affair to help guide her thoughts throughout. Great job on the wedding florals, decor and Chuppah, Richard Remiard Designs! It was great to see Caroline Shaw, The Wedding Dresser helping Sloane throughout the day. And another great job by Cynde from Cynde Cosmetics.
We took most of their creative portraits at the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MCA) as their tress were just the perfect fall colors! Here’s one of my favorites with the fall foliage!
Sloane’s beautiful wedding dress from Israeli gown designer, Galia Lahav. I was able to use a reflection off of a table to create this wedding dress photo! You have got to see more of this wedding dress, the details from Galia Lahav are amazing! Be sure to scroll down for more photos!
Her wedding shoes with her Galia Lahav wedding gown in the reflection-

Cynde applying Sloane’s makeup
Mom and Caroline, The Wedding Dresser, helping with the finishing touches!
We had some sun reflecting off of the John Hancock, so I wanted to incorporate some sun flare into her wedding portrait
Love this picture of Sloane with her birdcage veil. This photo has such an editorial feel- so timeless!
I wanted to reuse that reflection in her Ritz Carlton suite-
Another picture with the birdcage and those lashes!
Sloane opted to have a vintage brooch instead of a wedding bouquet-
Her bridesmaids had bouquets filled with roses and vintage brooches
Thanks to Tom for second shooting, he documented Aaron getting ready-

A relaxed groom- love this classic portrait of Aaron!
I don’t normally post ‘first look’ wedding photos on the blog, but I really wanted to share these two photos- We did their first look in the Ritz Carlton lobby
Aaron’s emotional response to seeing his beautiful bride- this moment lasted a fraction of a second…and they have this wedding photo to remember it forever!
And Sloane’s face…she is glowing! They can’t wait to get married!
One last photo in the Ritz Carlton lobby before we headed out for some creative portraits!
Chicago Museum of Contemporary Arts Fall Wedding Photos (MCA)
We headed across the street to the MCA for their wedding photos. I saw the reflecting sun on the walls of the MCA and thought it looked surreal…almost like reflections of water- I also love the juxtaposition of the cold, sterile concrete with their warm embrace. I also love the strong lines and geometric shapes…circles, triangles & rectangles
The Museum of Contemporary Arts has a courtyard that had the most PERFECT FALL COLORS! There was this large yellow Ginko tree that we had to take pictures with! I love all the leading lines of the tree branches that point to the bride and groom!
The large bridal party for a photo on the stairs of the MCA
Sloane & Aaron in front of another tree with gorgeous fall colors!
Love their smiles & laugh surrounded by the fall colors!
Since we are in the city of Chicago, I wanted to incorporate a little of our famous Chicago skyline by getting the John Hancock into this wedding picture!
One of my favorites from the day – They look stunning! I love their look and the fall reds and yellows behind them!
We took some bridal party photos inside of a Chicago fire station! They even turned on the siren lights! It’s my first time shooting inside of a fire station – Thanks to the Chicago Fire Dept!
Groomsmen photo with the fire truck-
One more huge bridal party with some Ritz Carlton signage! Freestyle!
Since the sun was beginning to set, I wanted to take a couple photos at night- I love the editorial feel of this photo-
This photo makes me smile just looking at it =)
Jewish Wedding Ceremony – Ketubah Signing
Back in side the Ritz, the family had gathered for the Ketubah signing, a prewedding Jewish tradition.
Their rabbi signing the Ketubah with the happy & excited mothers looking on! There were some fun moments with the breaking of the plate, but I’m saving those for their wedding slideshow that will be here on the blog in a few weeks!
Richard Remiard Designs knocked their Chuppah out of the park by transforming the Ritz Carlton ballroom into this gorgeous wedding ceremony room!
Love this photo of Sloane as she walks into the room- and I love the detail on the back of her wedding gown!
An emotional moment with her father-
Sharing a laugh during the exchange of rings!
I caught this reflection in a mirrored table for this picture
Aaron snuck this kiss in during their wedding ceremony.
A Jewish tradition is the “breaking of the glass” – Mazel Tov!
Ritz Carlton Wedding Reception Wedding Pictures
Jan from Parties, Events & More did a wonderful job with the ‘card table’ – a board with handwritten name tags, attached to a vintage skeleton key! And not to mention the large skeleton key on top of the vintage frame!
Wonderful centerpieces from Richard Remiard Designs
I love the details on the menu card-

Sweet heart table
First dance photo!
Having fun during their choreographed first dance!
A funny cake cutting photo – somehow there is cake on Sloanes fork AND in Aaron’s mouth – caught in the act!
It’s a Jewish tradition to honor the parents when the last of their children are married – congrats to Sloane’s parents!
Traditional Jewish dancing, the Horah, is so much fun to photograph!
Captured this photo the moment before Aaron went flying off! After this Aaron made sure to get a couple more guys to help balance out the chair!
Aaron and his brother-
A picture of the women in the bride’s family dancing on the stage!
Cupcakes to take home! There were so many different flavors to choose from!
The after party room in the Ritz Carlton! Jan and her team had set up these snacks!
Thanks again to Sloane + Aaron for having me as your wedding photographer! So many great moments and wonderful Jewish traditions! We couldn’t have asked for better fall colors or a better venue than the Ritz Carlton Chicago! Fantastic job to Jan & her team for making everything flow smoothly!
with love,
your Chicago wedding photographer,
Kenny
