University of Chicago Engagement Photos
They met on campus and it was only fitting for Desmond to ask Stephanie for her hand in marriage where it all began! Their University of Chicago proposal photos were perfect! Though it was forecasted to rain all day, they clouds parted just in time for the special moment on the quad!
Photographer’s Tip: The more you photograph proposals, the more you have an idea of how much time you have and how quickly you can move. When I realized I could not see Stephanie’s face, I ran about 5 steps to get a better perspective and was rewarded with these photos!
The best expression and the reason you hire a professional proposal photographer to capture your epic moment!
I also love how they are framed by the greenery surrounding the quad, it feels like they are in the middle of a garden or forest!
A smile of joy and a smile of relief captured for their University of Chicago proposal photos!
Love the shirt this little guy was wearing: “My humans are getting married!”
Shout out to family that travelled far and wide to be here to celebrate the happy couple! Shout out to Carl (father of the soon-to-be-bride) who referred me to Desmond! Carl lives in Florida, but remembered me from when we worked together in Haiti back in 2011! You can see photos from the Haiti 1 Yr Memorial Rally blog post here!
University of Chicago Engagement Photos
After the proposal, we walked around the University of Chicago campus to take a few engagement photos! The architecture is gorgeous and we made sure to incorporate it into their pictures!
The greenery + gorgeous architecture make these University of Chicago engagement photos really special! It’s unlike anything else in our city!
These two look like they belong in a fashion magazine!
Promontory Point Engagement Photos
After their University of Chicago proposal photos were complete, we headed down the street for their Promotor Point engagement photos! They wanted to include the Chicago skyline in their pictures!
The sky was perfect – it almost looks fake!
The wave are not always this calm. It makes for a peaceful ending to their Promotory Point engagement photos!
Photographer’s Tip: Know the rules to break the rules. This photo looks great with a flat horizon…but I thought to tilt it a bit to add a little intrigue and creativeness…so you have two angled lines running through the photos with a beautiful embrace and kiss opposite the Chicago skyline!
Congratulations again Desmond + Stephanie! Everything turned out perfectly for the two of you! Hope you enjoy these photos as they document your proposal story and where you both met! Thank you Carl for referring me to Desmond- to make sure they had gorgeous proposal photos!
Much love to you both!
your Chicago proposal photographer,
