Chicago Wedding Photos!
Oh glorious Chicago! You are famous for your architecture and who else would appreciate all that you are on their wedding day than…and architect! And what better way to enjoy Chicago’s architecture on a wedding than to have your wedding ceremony on the Chicago river! The classic Chicago Wendella boats were the perfect venue! Their reception was held at another classic Chicago icon…the Rookery building designed by Daniel Burnham & John Root with the lobby remodeled by Franklin Lloyd Wright!
Before we get into more details from Nina + Robert’s wedding…here’s one of my favorites of the two of them on the Rookery spiral staircase!
Her gorgeous Ines Di Santo wedding dress!
A photo of her Benjamin Adams wedding shoes from the Left Bank Jewelry! A fabulous wedding boutique in Chicago’s Lincoln Park for wedding shoes, jewelry and accessories!
Her white wedding bouquet-
Nina looked amazing in her Ines Di Santo wedding gown!
A photo of her mom putting on the final touches!
Love this photo – the details on the back of her Ines Di Santo wedding dress-
Another beautiful photo of the bride!
A moment with the ladies before we headed out!
Headed down to grab these portraits of Robert-
A picture of the bride and groom near Michigan Avenue!
Ines Di Santo wedding dress details-
A full bridal party photo right off of Michigan Avenue with the Chicago skyline in the background!
Love the clean lines in this wedding portrait!
Bridal party photo-
Love their smiles!
We headed below Michigan Ave for this cool stairwell photo!
Love the fashion/editorial feel of this photo!
And I love the emotions and smiles before their wedding ceremony!
Grabbed this photo on the Wendella boat with the Trump tower in the background-
Tom, my second shooter, was on the bridge to capture their Wendella boat as it moved down the river!
Robert was all smiles!
I loved going under the Chicago bridges…it made for some amazing photos!
A wedding on the Chicago river!
A view from the bow of the Wendella boat! A view of the Chicago skyline as can only be seen on the Chicago river!
The wedding reception was held at the Rookery Building! I love at the spiral staircase!
Their Norwegian wedding cake!
Another Rookery room shot – notice the detail in the skylights!
We walked around the Rookery building to take some photos on their iconic spiral staircase!
Though Chicago has a lot of buildings, you will not find these stairs in any other building-
Instead of cutting their wedding cake, they followed their Norwegian tradition and broke one of the rings together!
Their first dance! I wanted to include the staircase in their picture!
Such a classic photo!
One last photo- their wedding rings! And I love that Robert designed her wedding band himself!
Thank you Nina & Robert for having me as your wedding photographer! What a unique set of wedding photos! The beautiful weather…the sunshine…and the Chicago architecture!
with love,
your Chicago Wedding Photographer,
Kenny
