Chicago Covid Wedding Photos // Outdoor Backyard + Church Pictures on the North Shore
Due to the Covid pandemic, Erin + Keegan pushed their larger Chicago North Shore ‘Wedding Party’ to next year. But they decided to still get married on their original wedding date! What started as just a ‘little gathering’ turned into quite an amazing event, as you can see from their outdoor Covid wedding photos!
Shout out to Misha from Nouvelle Events who introduced us and to fine folks over at Mirar Weddings for their live-streaming services!

As a Chicago Covid wedding photographer, I’ve learned that all my covid wedding photos will look different…as each event is different! We started their wedding day photos with Erin all ready dressed and ready for photos at her parent’s house. Loved these front windows…feels like a stylized bridal photoshoot!
Their home boasts a beautiful circular staircase that we had to take photos on!
Love the elegance of this portrait, fits perfectly with her look!
Just a quick photo of the groom – literally only had 30 seconds to take his picture!
Mom + Dad sent her off to have her covid church wedding pictures taken! With everything happening on the Chicago North Shore, it was only a short drive away!
Chicago Covid Church Wedding Photos // Faith, Hope, and Charity Catholic Church
The staff at Faith, Hope, and Charity Catholic Church did a wonderful job making sure everyone was safe for their Covid wedding. Guests signed in (for contact tracing), wore masks, seated in every other row, and socially distant! As a Chicago Covid wedding photographer, their thoughtfulness was appreciated!
With such a large sanctuary, many of their friends and family were able to witness their wedding!
Keegan awaiting his bride…ready to see her for the first time! Nothing says “Covid Church Wedding Photos” like the clergy wearing masks!
The interior of Faith, Hope, and Charity Catholic Church is gorgeous. From the chandeliers to the stained glass windows in the background as Erin walked down the aisle!
One things missing in these covid church wedding photos…are the expressions of the parents – but the masks don’t take away from the beauty of this moment.
Bagpipes to escort the bride and groom for their recessional!
They did it! You can just feel their excitement through the photo!
The bride and groom entering a new phase of their lives together-
Once outside, they waved goodbye to their guests! A smaller group would head over to the house for their outdoor backyard covid wedding pictures-
Perfect weather for a convertible getaway car!
Outdoor Covid Wedding Photos in their Backyard!
The outdoor space for these backyard wedding pictures is unreal! Love the blue and green colors! Blue Plate Catering did a wonderful job with the food and beverage service.
Little touches of decor for their backyard covid wedding pictures!
A small outdoor tented dinner for their friends and family.
Feels more like a country club than a backyard and made for a perfect backdrop for their outdoor covid wedding photos!
Photographer’s Tip: I’m always drawn to symmetry, layers and good composition. This photo has it a lot of those elements…and yet it’s their expression that brings the impact!
Cute backyard covid wedding pictures! All I did was rotate the bride and groom, change lenses, change poses and you get a totally different feel from this photo than the previous one! But they didn’t move more than two feet!
Congrats again Erin + Keegan! Thank you for having me as your Chicago Covid wedding photographer! So happy you were able to get married and celebrate with your closest family and friends! It was perfect!
with love,
Kenny Nakai
