Carolyn & Chris…my little sister is engaged! =)

So my little sister…all grown up…got engaged a couple weeks ago! Her boyfriend, Chris, flew in from Germany a day earlier to surprise her after work! =)

Needless to say, she was surprised and the youth group kids were wondering where she was that Friday night. Well…we were sure to head out to the Chicago Botanic Gardens for a quick photo shoot. The weather was bitterly cold, but these two braved the weather for some quick shots.

I got to use my new fisheye lens on this shoot for the first time. This photo took more than a couple tries to get. =) Chris and Carolyn are still working out their communication…one, two, three, jump! or is it one, two, three, and then jump?! jump on three or jump after three?! Well..we finally got a shot that worked!

Afterwards we headed out to Japonais for some dinner and dessert to celebrate. Their food is amazing, and this one dessert stands out among the rest. It has the most generic name ever. We didn’t even order it because of the name. Coffee and Donuts. Thankfully our waitress recommended this to us…and I am so thankful she did! Those donuts in the background have melted chocolate inside. So you cut them in half….and dip them in the green tea cream dip! OH MY! Talk about amazing! It turns out…that dish is one of Chicago’s best 124 dishes (according to Chicago Magazine). I most certainly agree!

Well it was great meeting you Chris, and I’m sure we’ll be taking many more photos in the months to come. =)
