An Intimate Wedding in an Arboretum – Ashley + Cheng-Chiang!

A couple weeks ago I flew out to Boston, MA for my first wedding at the Harvard Arboretum! What a beautiful oasis in a bustling city! What makes their wedding photos all the more special…Cheng-Chiang is a recent graduate of Harvard University and worked extensively in the Harvard Arboretum!

Cheng-Chiang has been following my wedding photography through the years since he first found out about me through a friend. And they both had it in their hearts to have me as their wedding photographer if possible. I was thankful that I was available on their wedding day…and it was such a special opportunity to capture these moments for them!

In case you missed it…check out their Boston Engagement Photos!

Their wedding was an intimate affair with a larger reception planned for Taiwan in the near future. But on this beautiful spring day…there were trees blooming and the Harvard Arboretum provided the perfect backdrop!

Here’s one of my favorite photos of the bride and groom in front a blooming tree in the Rosaceous garden!

Ashley had painted these two cute little birds for Cheng-Chiang…and I thought it was a great little way to hold their wedding rings! Their relationship was long distance…he was in Boston, and she was in Vancouver!

Her mom was helping to put on the final touches to the bow

I found a cool reflection in the mirror while she was getting her last touches of makeup put on!

Beautiful portrait of the bride!

A photo of the groom getting ready-

Cheng-Chiang looking all ready for the wedding!

He is on his way to pick up his bride! He travels so much…the roller bag is a perfect accessory!

A quick picture together after their first look-

A prayer together with close family and friends before leaving the hotel

More beautiful photos with the pink flowers! I loved this tree at the Harvard Arboretum!

This flowering tree at the arboretum almost looks like a painting behind them!

I love the yellow color…but more than that…I love their smiles!

Only fitting…the bride is handed off…to be united with her groom….while about to stand on the ‘United’ red carpet! Cheng-Chiang + Ashley have spent a lot of time on United traveling back and forth to see each other!

A small intimate dinner followed…

And in Chinese culture…the bride and groom have a champagne toast with their guests!

Congrats to you both! No more hard goodbyes! =) Thank you for having us at your wedding, it was a privilege to be your wedding photographer! I’m so glad it all worked out! Thanks for a great time in Boston and being so considerate with our travel plans! May you both continue to depend on Him as you grow in your relationship with each other!

with love,

your Chicago wedding photographer,

Kenny
