Chris & Carolyn’s Wedding!

A couple months ago, my one and only little sister got married! I had the opportunity to be a groomsman & photographer on this special day.

Here’s some pictures we took last year at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. You can see the rest of the images here.

Thanks to Nate Mathai for helping me on this shoot and to make sure I was in some of the images as well- =)

Both the bride & groom were getting ready at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel. Two of my friends, Roselyn and Mimi working the hair and makeup.

My sister knows what kind of food she wants for the morning of her wedding! No donuts or pancakes! Even the delivery guy was all smiles.

One last moment to laugh and curl up before it all begins-

My sister was smiling the whole trip down the aisle. The flowers were all done by my friend Grace from Vale of Enna. I love her floral designs and the craftsmanship is always top notch-

I would have bet money that she was going to ball her eyes out…but she kept her composure…only a few tears-

Look at the groom’s face as he looks at his new bride- =)

Now my sister and I had scouted out this AWESOME location to shoot at after the ceremony. But all Chicagoans know the day of the crazy flooding here in the city- So the limo driver told us that we might be late to the reception if we went to take pictures! We didn’t want to chance that…and so we just headed back. There was some crazy flooding and some crazy traffic. We all made it there safely, with a few minutes to spare. So we grabbed some quick shots in the hotel…

I love Carolyn’s smile here…that’s how I know Chris makes her happy. She smiles and giggles in a way that is only around when she is really…really happy. =)

And one thing about me…I have four nieces and two nephews! Here are five of them running around me during the reception. Thanks to my brother for grabbing my camera out of my hands to capture this moment. They did such a good job the whole day…

During the cake cutting all four flower girls were zeroed in on the at one piece of cake. It was probably closest they had ever been to a cake that large.

After the first dance, the older brothers surprised Carolyn with a dance to the song, “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman. Though she was able to hold back the emotions during the ceremony…this caught her off guard…it was an emotional moment for us all-

One last dance together before the lights came on….

One of my favorite shots of the night-

And of course a ring shot! These were hand folded with love by one our family friends from church.

Congrats once again to Carolyn & Chris! It was a wonderful celebration and I’m so happy for the both of you! Keep growing and serving the Lord over there in Europe!

with love,

your brother- Kenny
