The Lord has been faithful to John and Catherine. Through all the peaks and valleys of life, they have come to know the secure refuge that is His hand. John serves the church here in the Chicagoland area and Catherine is finishing her degree at Dallas Theological Seminary.
On this joyous day He brought their hearts together to begin a new journey as one. It was obvious to me, as an outsider observing their celebration, that these two were not focused on themselves, but on others. They wanted to spend their time talking with their guests rather than posing for photos. Only at the very end of the evening, with most of their energy exerted and after their guests had left, did we take the time for some ‘relaxed’ portraits.
It was my privilege to serve these two servants of God. I am also grateful to my friend and fellow photographer Kenny Kim for introducing us to each other.
The day started with a gorgeous view at Dr. and Mrs. George Liang’s on the 52nd floor of the Lake Point Tower Condos (large black clover shaped building next to Navy Pier). Afterwards, we headed out to the picturesque Moody Church for the ceremony and reception.
To close, John and Catherine had an unofficial ‘first dance’ with John providing the melody in Catherine’s ear. Thanks so much for all your service to the Lord, and I pray that He would use your marriage mightily for His kingdom!

John, there is a God and the proof is this wonderful lady God has convinced to marry you!
On a more serious note, you and your brother have been such a blessing to Gwen and me through TAF and beyond! We are so glad that you have found a life partner for ministry.
This wasn’t a wedding, it was an event! Breathtakingly beautiful, both the Bride and the setting in Moody Church. Your photographer did an outstanding job!
We wished we could have been there.

These pictures look great! I’m so sorry I was not able to attend the wedding. I have to admit our wedding pictures (now a decade old) look like an 80′s video shoot, while yours looks so modern and high tech. Hehe. Many many blessings on your new life together.
