Chicago Engagement Session!
It’s all about a referral. Donna heard about me three years ago when her friend, Nicole, had me as her wedding photographer! She kept my name in mind when she got engaged this past year! They are flying me out to Arizona for their wedding next year and I can’t wait! =) Before we started our engagement session…I introduced them to a Portillo’s Maxwell street Polish sausage & a dipped Italian Beef! The Polish comes complete with Grilled onions and mustard. It’s how we do it in Chicago! =)
First up…my favorite shot of the day…an engagement photo at night in Lincoln Park!
Chicago Museum Campus
We started our session at the Chicago Museum Campus! A gorgeous park located on Lake Michigan…recently created by moving Lake Shore Drive west so there can be a park between the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium- And since we are in Chicago…I wanted to make sure the Chicago Skyline was in the background for these Arizonians (sp?) =)

They don’t have a large body of water like Lake Michigan- so we made sure to get the Lake in the background!

Chicago Lincoln Park
We headed up north to Lincoln Park after a quick outfit change. A great skyline shot for them!

The sun started to set and our session turned into a night session! Such a romantic engagement picture with the lights!
The city of Chicago has a different vibe at night…and we get some unique engagement pictures!
There are a lot of ‘honeycomb’ engagement pictures online…but have you ever seen one like this?! The Chicago honeycomb at night! And I love the Chicago skyline in the background!
Downtown Chicago at Night
The city comes to life at night…and I really enjoy shooting these engagement sessions at night! It’s a totally different vibe and a totally different skill set as a photographer! It’s challenging and so rewarding when you get a great photo!
We started on a Chicago bridge-
Walked by the Chicago House of Blues for a picture
And we found this alley! Downtown Chicago is full of surprises!
And like I said earlier…the city is so romantic at night!
And I wanted to show them Lower Wacker drive – so we made sure to grab a picture! We Chicagoans are proud that the chase scenes in Batman the Dark Night Returns were filmed in our city!
